Born 28/05/1850 and the registration place was Westbury. The informer named on the birth certificate was G Adams, school master, Deloraine.

He died on 11/5/1927 at age 76, at the Public Hospital, Launceston and was buried in St Andrews Church, Carrick, Tasmania. Record of Death gives his occupation as pensioner and records his issue as 5 living males and 3 living females.

William married Harriett Keating 21/2/1878 in the Independent Church, Tamar St. Launceston in the presence of William Sullivan and MA Sullivan. William's rank was given as 'Farmer'. He made his mark on the marriage certificate which indicates that, like his father, he couldn't write. On his son William's birth certificate, his occupation was given as "Groom".

Harriett died 24/4/1910 aged 58 an was buried on 26th April 1910 at St Andrews Church, Carrick, Tasmania at age 58. Harriet died of bronchitis, pneumonia and heart failure.
