Janet Ralston was born in 1798 and died on 24 Aug 1861 in Tasmania, at age 63. (Probably daughter of Elizabeth Bryce as Robert calls her their ‘eldest daughter’)

Janet married her cousin David Ralston , son of Gavin Ralston and Unnamed , on 12 Jan 1828 in Tasmania.

Janet died on 22 August 1861 in the Launceston District, and was buried in grounds of the St Andrews Presbyterian Church at Evandale. A death notice in the Examiner (24/08/1861) announced ,"Beloved wife of Mr David Ralston - Janet Ralston, Westwood,  West Tamar, 63 years at Corminston on 22nd August. Funeral will meet at the Cataract Gorge Punt an Mon 26th at 2 o'clock."

David and Janet Ralston’s children were all born in Launceston, Tasmania: Gavin 1828; Robert Haywood 1830; Eliza 1832; Mary 1834; David 1836; and John 1837. (For more information about Janet see David's Personal Profile).
