Ancestry 1891 Scotland census. Agnes has found
employment as a domestic servant.
By 1918 when her daughter Flora married, Agnes had lost her
first husband and married William Boyd.
Winston Ralston
wrote," Whilst in my late years before my teens, Mum arranged for me to stay
with 'Maw' (her mother). Grandad (her step father) had previously passed away."
Presumably 'Grandad' was William Boyd, her second husband. If Winston was 11-12
the year would have been 1932-33 but William's death was given as 1937 on
Agnes' Marriage Certificate to Edward Wallace.
Winston also wrote, "Previous to losing Granddad, Mum lost her only brother
(half brother) Willie. Willie lived in Bassendean, West Australia and caught
pneumonia. Mum was very distraught through getting news that not enough had been
done to save his life." Bassendean is a suburb near Perth airport.

Agnes married Edward Wallace on 22/7/1938. An 1870 birth date would make her 67,
not 63
She was registered as Agnes Wallace when she died in 1958 aged 84,
father Ben Cartwright, mother Catherine Durham. She died at Parkville,
Melbourne, probably
the The Royal Melbourne.
